Engagement CommitteE
Become part of the
We are so glad that you’re interested in becoming a part of the Accounting Club’s Engagement Committee! Many members in the past have shown interest in becoming a larger part of our organization, so we are excited to provide this committee as a launching point for those who want to take on a bigger role for the Accounting Club while developing their own professional abilities further. We hope to see your future application soon!
As a member of the Engagement Committee, your main goal would be to enhance the social and philanthropy events of the Accounting Club in a multitude of ways. Working in cooperation with the Social and Philanthropy chairs, you would be in charge of a variety of tasks that relate to the planning, set-up, and execution of events. Some of the tasks you could expect to assist with are listed below:

-
Attendance of all social and philanthropy events (when possible) and leadership in these events; for example, willingness to be a team captain for team-based events
-
Biweekly meeting with the rest of the Engagement Committee to break down the prior week’s social events, what could be improved for the future, and to help plan out the upcoming week’s social events
-
Planning their own social event for later in the semester - the committee would work together to plan out a social event without significant exec input and would host it for the entire organization
-
Taking a larger role for more involved social events like parties; would be expected to help come up with themes/decorations, help to set up the event, and help to take everything down once the event ends
-
Continuous feedback with the executive board on how the committee can be improved for future semesters

These are just examples of tasks you could be expected to assist with - it is not the conclusive list. We are open to any other ideas you might have for the role!
Of course, being on the engagement committee will have its perks. We appreciate the time & dedication of being a part of the committee so in return we will offer these benefits:

-
New and exclusive merch, examples include mugs and t-shirts
-
Receive a discount in dues for the following semester
-
Improvements in the member’s professional development
-
Can play a crucial part as exec interviews roll around

POSITION LOGISTICS/TIMELINE:
-
Submit Dues by Sept. 21st (This is important and required to become a member of the committee)
-
Receive email about committee application & submit by Sept. 28th
-
If selected, we will call/email you with times to meet days after
-
We will then meet days after & proceed with biweekly meetings discussing your role & how to be more involved in the Accounting club.
We are excited for this upcoming semester & interested in seeing what you have to offer us! We appreciate the help and once again, thank you so much for expressing interest in the Engagement Committee & Accounting Club!
